NIMBA COUNTY — Police are investigating after a 30-year-old man was found dead in a stream Wednesday morning, in the Dahnlorpa Community, Sanniquellie City, Nimba County. Prince Tokpah was found dead outside the community in a stream near a cassava patch on Wednesday morning, January 3, 2024.
The man’s lifeless body was recovered from the water. It’s understood he died as a result of epiclesis, according to an examination report by a team of medical practitioners from the George Way Harley Hospital in Sanniquellie City. According to family sources, the late Prince at first was not an epiclesis patient from birth but was witched (African sign) in late 2022 and was later taken in the sick bush for traditional medication and brought back to the community.
The family sources further explained that since 2021 up to his death, they have not noticed anything of such or for him to have suffered from the illness. Our source informed us that the late Prince Tokpah had earlier told his family that he was going on the farm to dig cassava to cook for his dog that had just given birth and upon his return fell off with the sickness into the stream and died.
His body was seen lying with his face down, a rubber gun on his neck, and some cassava in a black plastic bag with a cutlass around him. A fifteen-mann coroner jury set up to examine the body established that there was no foul play on the body. Meanwhile, the body has been turned over to the family for burial
