-Following controversial fatal shooting

NIMBA COUNTY- A 9 year-old boy identified as Emmanuel Gehgbay, recently killed two minors in Garr Tondin Town, Nimba County, following a controversial fatal shooting accident.
Three female minors, at the ages of three, five and eight year old- were shot Thursday, November 2, 2023, by Emmanuel Gehgbay. As established by report so far, Florence Dolo, age 3, survived the incident but with gunshot wounds.
As gathered by our Correspondent in the County- the incident occurred after 9-year-old Emmanuel Gehgbay took out a single barrel long gun that was kept under a farm’s kitchen, pointed it at the three minors and immediately released the trigger on them.
Following the fatal shooting, 5-year-old victim, Yah Dolo and 8-year-old, Yah Fasu were pronounced dead on the scene, while Florence Dolo, age 3, remains alive but in a critical state. She was transported to the Ganta United Methodist Hospital for medical treatment and later transferred to the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Memorial Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
According to police authorities in the county, the reported shooting occurred after the victims and the minor shooter have gone on the farm in the Yarsonnon Village along with a lady only identified as Baby Gono, age 32, but she later left the children alone at the farm’s kitchen of a man known as Saye Fasue, who is believed to be the owner of the firearm that was discovered and subsequently used by Emmanuel Gehgbay, the minor shooter.
Detectives believe the shootings took place between 11:00am, Thursday, but the actual cause of the minor’s action remains unclear.
The police further that, a call was made stating that a man by the name Saye Fasue, an adult of Tondin town left his single barrel long gun under his farm kitchen and a boy by the name Emmanuel Gehgbay took the gun and shot all three children on the farm in Garr Tondin, Nimba County.
Police authorities maintained that, an examination conducted by a 15men coroner jury headed by John Gono and Lemiel Blemie reported little Yah Dolo and Yah Fasu dead as the result of the fatal shooting.
An investigation is underway by the authorities of the Liberia National Police in Nimba County as they have so far arrested and forward to the Ganta Zone -1 Police Depot Yah Baby Gono, age 32, little Emmanuel Gehgbay, age 9 and Elijah Gehgbay, a farmer of the same area as persons of interest for further investigation.
