Kakata, Liberia – The Kakata Police Department has confirmed the arrest of 60-year-old Ma Hawa Fofana

following an alleged stabbing of her daughter, Malusu Fofana, during a dispute over groundnuts.

The altercation took place at 2:30 PM on Sunday. Ma Hawa accused Malusu of stealing her groundnuts. The argument escalated, leading to the stabbing of Malusu in the stomach.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic. Neighbors rushed to help after hearing Malusu’s screams. By the time they arrived, she was on the ground, bleeding heavily.

Malusu was quickly taken to Barcolleh Health Center for emergency surgery. Medical staff are working to stabilize her condition, but the extent of her injuries is still unclear.

Ma Hawa Fofana is currently in custody at the Kakata Police Station. Authorities are investigating the incident, gathering witness statements, and awaiting a medical report from the hospital.

Residents of New Kakata are in fright and calling for justice. Some neighbors described Ma Hawa as generally peaceful but noted previous minor disputes between her and Malusu.

Authorities are expected to provide updates on Malusu’s condition and any potential charges against Ma Hawa.
