GBEI TAINGBAIN TOWN โ Nimba County Senator, Prince Y. Johnson has stressed that his county, Nimba is not a violence hub, but a union of peace and law abiding family in Liberia.
Senator Johnson further noted that his county will only become violent and go disgruntle when an individual try to abuse the rights and blackmail the high earned characters of people of the county because of their selfishness.
The controversial senator said Nimba is development driven and serious minded county with esteemed sense of integrity, but added that anyone who intend to go after him and people of the county will face the consequences.
Senator Johnson who did not state what prompted his assertion made the remarks Monday during the ribbon cutting and the grand dedication of a newly constructed Yarr River Bridge between Gbeyi Tengbein and Yeahyee Towns in Nimba County Districts 7&8.
It can be recalled that on Monday (May 20) Nimba County District 7 Lawmaker, Musa Hassan Bility held a ceremonial ribbon cutting, dedicating a newly constructed Yarr River Bridge in Saclepea Mah, connecting Nimba County Districts 7, 8 and other parts of Liberia.
The Yarr River located in Gbeyi Tengbein Town, Nimba County District 7 has long been a death trap for citizens living in that part of the county as the result of traveling in canoes.
History recorded that, over the decades too many canoes have capsized, many people drowned mostly women and children died while trying to cross the river.
Residents of Gbeyi Taingbain and Yeahyee Towns usually used canoes to travel across the Yarr River to attend to others social services.
It can be recalled that in September 27, 2015 about nine years ago five persons drowned in the river when a boat carrying nine passengers along with two motorcycles capsized, leaving five of the nine occupants drowned and died in the river.
However, Senator Johnson used the occasion to call on people of Nimba not to look at Representative Bility as a Madengo, Gio or Mano man, but as a patriotic son and citizen of Nimba.
He said Rep. Bility’s prioritization of inclusive community development towards improving the livelihood of people of his district, despite tribal differences is admirable.
The senator meanwhile wants citizens and other representatives of districts in Nimba County to follow the good example of Rep. Musa Hassan Bility in order to jealously initiate community projects in their respective constituency.
