Community policing is one such approach, revolving around strategies to create a dynamic partnership between police officers and local community members that gives new measures to combat crimes.

By building trust with the communities they serve, community policing aims at creating an environment conducive to cooperation and information-sharing, which a problem-solving technique is then used to proactively address the underlying causes of crime.
