-Encourages Nimbians to celebrate him

SACLEPEA, NIMBA CO. – Nimba County’s iron lady, Superintendent Kou Meapeh Gono is calling on citizens of the county to honor Senator Price Y. Johnson for his decisive leadership role in the county and across Liberia.
Sup. Gono stressed the importance need for all Nimba citizens home and in the diaspora to forgo those dack days of war in Liberia that claimed away may lives, bringing the senator to the war front in defense of the people of Nimba County.
The Nimba Superintendent wants citizens to get away with their bitterness against Senator Johnson in all forms and manner, but should honor the county’s political godfather who she said has positively defended the county’s interest over the years during and after election period.
According to her, the senator deserves honoring for his leadership role in national government in defense of Nimba for the betterment of his people.
While noting his dedicated services in development initiatives across the county, creating the space for Nimbaians in appointed and elected positions in government.
Superintendent Kou Meapeh Gono however promised to lead a campaign “One Nimba Conference” in an effort to bring all Nimba citizens on a roundtable gathering aim to peaceful coexist and reconcile the county’s forward match.
She also expressed a sense of unity, peace and stability in Nimba as the bedrock of development, adding that honoring Senator Johnson will underscore the importance of peace, reconciliation and unity in cementing Nimbaians’ commitment in supporting diverse development initiatives across the county.
Sup. Gono noted further that with peace of mind the senator has over the decades opened door and made way for several sons and daughters of the county in local, and national government including elective positions in the county triggered her call to payback the senator with respect and honor, despite his involvement during Liberia civil war.
The Nimba Superintendent meanwhile described Senator Johnson as an icon of unity, thus rallying Nimba peoplr support to honor him instead of ringing insults at him and bringing him to public disrepute.
Her statement was contained in remarks on Sunday, May 19 in Saclepea City during the end of phase one ‘Thanksgiving’ tour of Liberia’s Vice President, Jeremiah K. Koung in Nimba.
On Wednesday,15 May 2o24, the Vice President of Liberia, Hon. Jeremiah Kpan Koung embarked on his first official ‘Thank You’ visit to his home County, Nimba since his election during the 2023 poll and subsequent inauguration in 2024.
Vice President Koung before he was elected Vice President, served as Senator of Nimba for three years, and the House of Representatives for nine years as a Representative of Nimba County electoral district #1.
The first phase of his visit covers Nimba Electoral districts 1, 2, and 3 aimed at thanking the people of the county for their warm support during the 2023 presidential election, wining under the astute leadership of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.
