-NPP Chairman refutes media reports
National Patriotic Party Chairman George Sylvester Mulbah has denied media reports allegedly attributing to him of calling on the NPP to pull out of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Political marriage six years ago.
“As Chairman of the NPP I do not have the power to ordered our party withdrawal from the Coalition for Democratic Change because those documents that make us part of the CDC cannot be change by signal individual” Atty at-Law George Mulbah has quoted as saying.
He asserted that he was missed quoted by the journalist on Radio Bongese during his appurtenance on the radio recently in Bong County.
“This is untrue and misrepresentation of my statement on radio Bongese, I was clear that we were never part of Congress planned retreat and the general opinions is we will not attend because we were not part of the planning process and NPP can’t be a mere follower” NPP Geroge Mulbah as said.
According to him, regarding the 2029 general and presidential elections, it cannot be discuss now on grounds that it was too soon for determination though people have the right to their personal announcement for their ambition.
“I also defined what Coalition means and made it cleared that we were never treated properly because no ministerial positions was given to us, as a matter of law, I alone can’t make such a decision rather than the NEC’.
Attorney Mulbah revealed that over the last six years the Congress for the Democratic Change (CDC), treated the National Patriotic Party (NPP), as second class partisans on go grounds that decisions were made at the CDC’s Headquarters and imposed on the rest on the rest of the collation members.
He pointed out that the partisans of the NPP were not never awarded ministerial positions in the CDC government despite it been stipulated in the fretwork documents that bring the coalition together.
Chairman George Mulbah asserted that the NPP will not be part of the Congress for the Coalition Change (CDC), pending April retreat in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County on grounds that the National Patriotic Party was never consulted on such planned retreat.
We will not be part of any telephone converstion inviting us to such an important occasion as a reputable institution like the National Patriotic Party.
National Patriotic Party Chairman George Sylvester Mulbah noted that the NPP is willing to remain within the Coalition and the opposition once the right the thing is done to help improve the ordinary Liberian people.
An Executive Committee Member of the NPP who bagged not to be named told this paper that such pronouncements are policy oriented and can only be made by you as a consequence of a National Executive Committee directive through a two-thirds majority resolution, saying this must be further done on the basis of a convention resolution.
“To the best of my recollection, there has been no such discussion at any convention nor a resolution of the NEC to engender this publication”.
He called on senior partisans of the NPP to reframe from making statement that will make the NPP ugly in the eyes of the others coalition members.
