As part of his administration’s effort to enhance Economic, Technical, and Trade Cooperation, Liberian leader Joseph Nyumah Boakai has an investment invitation to the government and people of Indonesia to explore Liberia’s vast resources.
“As we look towards Economic, Technical, and Trade Cooperation, I would like to extend a warm invitation to Indonesia to explore investment opportunities within Liberia. I envision a dynamic alignment between our countries where Indonesian enterprises can tap into the vast resources and potential that Liberia offers, whilst Liberia, in turn, gains access to Indonesia’s expertise and innovation.”
President Boakai asserted that with collaborative effort, the two countries can maximize the benefits that arise from collaboration, and contribute positively to the regional and global economy.
Addressing the Indonesia-Africa Forum on Monday, September 2, 2025, the president intimated that with togetherness, the two nations can use the
resources to create a brighter future for all by harnessing the potential of the people.

He stated that to navigate the challenges of the 21st century, countries need to work together in a spirit of partnership and solidarity.

At the same time, the Liberian Leader highlighted the ambitious and transformative development agenda of his administration for the Republic of Liberia— the “ARREST Agenda”.
The president said that the ARREST Agenda stands as a testament to his administration’s commitment to sustainable human and economic growth in Liberia, a nation where potential abounds, yet challenges persist.
He outlined Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism as the pillars that encapsulate his strategic priorities, crucial for the comprehensive development of Liberia.
In presenting Liberia for potential investment in birth development, he presented Liberia as being blessed with rich fertile lands.
He assured that unlocking Liberia’s agricultural potential will not only be a means of food security but as a foundation for economic empowerment.
He stated that with cooperation and shared expertise, he envisioned a robust agricultural sector that could propel Liberia’s economies while securing livelihoods.
In his deliberation, he intimated that his administration is focused on Roads as indicators for his commitment to infrastructure development, establishing essential connections within Liberia as well as with international partners. He asserted that improved road networks will foster trade, bring people closer, and facilitate the movement of goods and services, enhancing overall prosperity.

At the same time, he stated that the Rule of Law is paramount in creating a conducive environment for growth and stability.
Therefore, his administration stands firm in the belief that governance, integrity, and accountability are essential to attract the investments needed for the Liberian people’s welfare.
The president continued by recognizing Education as the bedrock of progress. He added that by investing in the education of Liberian youth, one is investing in the country’s future.
Adding that knowledge empowers individuals and communities, preparing them to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
He continued by outlining his administration agenda by adding that sanitation is another integral component of our agenda. He said that the health and well-being of the people of Liberia are critical to fostering a vibrant workforce capable of driving economic development. Therefore, called on partners to join in initiatives that promote health and hygiene.
In furtherance, the Liberian presented Liberia as a suitable destination for tourism.
He asserted that tourism is a vibrant sector that highlights Liberia’s rich culture, biodiversity, and heritage.
He intimated that together with nations like Indonesia, which shares a wealth of natural beauty and cultural richness, Liberia can form a cohesive front to attract tourists, generating employment and fostering sustainable development.
To reinforce this vision, the Liberian leader urged the government and the people of Indonesia to establish an embassy in Liberia.
He asserted that the establishment of a Resident Embassy of Indonesia in Liberia is a step that would facilitate deeper connections and enhance bilateral cooperation to unlock the potential for mutually beneficial collaborations.

President Boakai added that Liberia-Indonesia mutual commitment is intended to promote peace, development, and prosperity and it has been the cornerstone of their bilateral ties.
He added that Liberia and Indonesia have collaborated on various fronts, from trade and investment to education and capacity building.
Therefore, the Indonesia-Africa Forum forum serves as a testament to the enduring friendship between the two nations and as a potential for even greater collaboration in the future.
“As we reflect on this longstanding partnership, it is evident that our mutual commitment to promoting peace, development, and prosperity has been the cornerstone of our bilateral ties. Liberia and Indonesia have collaborated on various fronts, from trade and investment to education and capacity building.
This forum serves as a testament to the enduring friendship between our nations and the potential for even greater collaboration in the future.”
Meanwhile, the president lauded the government of Indonesia for the generous scholarships awarded to Liberia.
He said that the scholarships have played a crucial role in enhancing Liberia’s capacity in various sectors and have empowered many Liberian students to pursue their academic dreams.
