…Says he was a Blessing to Muslims and All Liberians

President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has called on all Muslims and Liberians in general to use the death of the fallen supreme leader of the Muslim council, Alhaji Amadu sheriff as a unifier to strengthen the existing unity amongst Liberians
He asserted that the Islamic leader, Alhaji Amadu sheriff was a national unifier and a blessing to Liberia. “He blessing to Muslim and Liberia. He was a national unifier.”
Alhaji Amadu sheriff born on January 14, 1907, in Kannelah, Quardu Gboni Chiefdom, Lofa County, served as a member of the first group of people who transported government taxes collected in the then Western Province, Number One Area, by foot all the way to White Plains, Monrovia on two occasions.
He was a founding member and top financial supporter during the formation of the Unity Party in 1984. Paying his tribute to the patriot, the Liberian leader asserted that it’s about time that Liberians do away with tribalism and focus on national unity that would bring forth development. “Stop the idea of tribalism. Being an ethnocentric person has not helped us, but brought us destructions.”
The president added that with collective efforts and national unity, Liberia is bound to succeed and develop. “This country, with all of us together, is going to be built.”
He added that his administration seeks to unit the country regardless of tribal and political affiliation. At the same time, the Liberian leader urged the Muslim community through the national Muslim council to host a national prayer in favor of Liberia bid for the United Nations Security Council.
