NIMBA COUNTY — A prominent businessman in Nimba County says the private sector plays an important part in the economic development of the nation.
Mr. Pharaze Dekpah, owner and CEO of DEK-TA INC is advancing his plan for increased development of Liberia’s economy, which he said should secure a prosperous future for all Liberians.
During early last month, Mr. Dekpah formally opened a commercial complex in Ganta City, marking a significant milestone in the country’s economic landscape.
The landmark infrastructure dubbed “Dekpah Commercial Complex” costs approximately USD 1.5 million, and contains about 200 stores, and residential apartments.
Mr. Dekpah’s commercial building aims to foster economic growth while sharing his visionary approach to sustaining prosperity in communities nationwide.
Strategically positioned at the height of Ganta City, the building spans a total built-up area of approximately thousands of square feet.
The Dekpah Commercial Complex, renowned for its vibrant mix of commercial, hospitality, and residential properties, is emerging as one of Liberia’s most sought-after business areas amidst a surge in demand for office spaces.
This infrastructure marks a significant milestone for DEK-TA INC. Under the leadership of Mr. Pharaze Dekpah, the group has established a robust portfolio encompassing office space, warehousing parks, special economic zones, and many others.
Commenting on loans given to government employees, Mr. Dekpah stated that he has become a major player in the improvement and welfare of civil servants who have acquired lands and houses by giving them loans.
The company’s innovative vision and strategic investments continue to reshape the landscape of commercial real estate in Nimba County.
“Today, the private sector plays a crucial role in addressing poverty and these efforts go far beyond acts of charity,” CEO Dekpah.
He highlighted that his current focus revolves around sustainable economic growth that will help to create more jobs for young people.
According to him, doing this, in turn, leads to increased resilience and self-reliance in vulnerable communities.
Mr. Dekpah then challenged young people to become more socially responsible, future-oriented, and committed to sustainable practices, and, as a result, they will be stimulated to embrace corporate social responsibility as a core part of operations.
“The collaboration between the public and the private sector must become stronger and more systematic, given that the number of people affected by poverty and humanitarian crises continues to rise,” he asserted.
CEO-Dekpah further encouraged the government to recognize and support the Public Private Partnership (PPP) to improve economic development.
He reiterated that the private sector plays a vital role in driving national development.
During an exclusive interview over the weekend, he emphasized the role of the private sector as a catalyst for economic growth and wealth creation.
Successful businesses contribute to the overall expansion of the economy by stimulating investments and creating job opportunities. Through these endeavors, we have successfully turned around these assets, fostering national development and empowering local communities.
Driven by competition and profit incentives, private enterprises promote efficiency and productivity.
In their pursuit to deliver products and services more effectively than others, businesses bring about cost reductions, improved quality, and increased output. Such outcomes benefit both businesses and consumers, driving economic progress. DEK-TA INC continuously strives for excellence, leveraging its diversified portfolio to optimize efficiency and deliver superior services to our stakeholders.
Private sector activities generate tax revenue that is essential for funding public infrastructure, social welfare programs, education, healthcare, and other government initiatives. As a responsible taxpayer, DEK-TA INC actively contributes to the development of Liberia by fulfilling its tax obligations.
The private sector also plays a crucial role in attracting investment and mobilizing capital, facilitating growth and development. Through entrepreneurial endeavors and strategic investments, the private institution stimulates research and development, infrastructure projects, and expansion plans.
Despite government allocation of financial resources to the sector with significant potential for positive social transformation, DEK-TA INC. actively contributes to Nimba County’s economic progress.
“As a private sector, when you grow, you can create more value for your shareholders, more jobs, and do more within the community that you operate,” Mr. Pharaze Dekpah concluded.
