NIMBA COUNTY — Several graves are reported vandalized at the Gompa City Cemetery — oldest cemetery in Gompa City, Nimba County.
Citizens and residents of the City of Gompa were seen at the City’s gravesite early Wednesday morning, March 13, 2024 on decoration day.

Photos from the gravesite showed what appeared to be a grave burglary with the crypt opened, and bodies missing.
According to report, the vandalized grave bones and parts appear to have been taken from the coffin.
It is unclear as to whom the grave belongs, although the vandalism took place months ago before being discovered Wednesday when family members and relatives have gone to pay tributes, and clean their love ones grave.
Some families however said the cemetery had similar problems years ago when grave robbers stole from the gravesite people buried in wealth at the cemetery.
The act has since sent public outage and affected community members, raising concerns about security and respect for the deceased and human dignity.
