Further speaking, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Nimba, Larmie Mendin revealed that following the incident, family members of the deceased attempted burning the clinic, but turned their anger toward the town, setting houses ablaze and destroying the town.

He said the action prompted him to dispatch PSU officers from Gbarnga Regional Hub to swiftly intervene to restore calm in the town. However, the town remains largely abandoned, with many residents reportedly hiding in the surrounding bushes in fear.
The police have meanwhile launched a search warrant for those who burnt down houses in the area. Mendin then disclosed that suspect Nuah Kpairtee has been charged with murder and forwarded to the 8th Judicial Circuit Court in Sanniquellie, Nimba County pending court trial.
