ULFA has termed it unfortunately how employees’ salaries are disbursed by the Business and Finance Office (BFO) of the university.
The University of Liberia Faculty Association (ULFA) has been alarmed over what it calls the repeated delays and irregularities in the disbursement of salaries for both full-time and part-time faculties of the institution.
ULFA noted in a release issued Monday that since the beginning of the year 2023, disbursements in salaries have been delayed for all full-time faculties.
It added that amid this concern, employees of the University of Liberia are being paid mostly between the 20th and the end of the month for the previous month.
ULFA has termed it unfortunately how employees’ salaries are disbursed by the Business and Finance Office (BFO) of the university.
The association indicated that what is more demeaning is their complete disregard for the welfare of their part-time colleagues.
ULFA stressed strongly that it is unacceptable to subject its members to extreme conditions and unnecessary costs due to the failure of the UL to pay salaries after receiving checks from the Ministry of Finance.
Meanwhile, the leadership of ULFA has urged the UL Administration to handle and resolve all outstanding salary issues for all full- and part-time employees this Monday, May 29, 2023.
ULFA said it feels very strongly about the settlement of this situation to avoid a constrained course of action that would have serious implications for the graduation exercises.
The statement comes as the university observes its 103rd commencement convocation.
