A well classified and confidential list from the National Leadership of the opposition Unity Party (UP), reveals the names of over 50 individuals, including the Publisher and CEO of Women Voices Newspaper, prominent women, journalists, current lawmakers, government officials, and several supporters of the CDC, who they termed as “targeted individuals” who they think need to be eliminated for effective good governance, after they shall have won the elections on October 10, 2023.

“By directive of the Standard Bearer, Amb. Joseph N. Boakai, these are the final list of targeted individuals that need to be eliminated for effective good governance; immediately after we shall have won the elections on October 10, 2023,” the list reads.

In what that the Unity Party (UP) describes as its “BLACKLIST”, includes: Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah, Jr, President Weah’s Chief of Protocol Finda Bundoo, ALP Political Leader Benoni Wilfred Urey, Liberia Crusaders for Peace Executive Director Madam Juli Endee, Telia Urey, Henry P. Costa, Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee, Leymah Gbowee, Philipbert Browne, Julius Jeh, Moriah Yeakula, Cllr. Arthur T. Johnson, Chief Zanzan Karwar, Garrison Yealue, Reginald Mehn, Liberian entertainers Bucky Raw, Kizzy W, Takun J, and Christoph the Change.

The Unity Party (UP) reported blacklist also includes: Robert Sirleaf, Mary T. Broh, Madam Medina Wesseh, Charles Sirleaf, LP Chairman Musa Hassan Bility, Gender Minster Williametta Piso Saydee Tarr, Rep. Thomas Fallah, Sen. Emmanuel Nuquay, Janga Augustus Kowo, Jessie Korboi, Varfley Dolleh, Cyrus Momo, Rep. Edwin Melvin Snowe, Sheikh Abubakar Sumaoro, Dr. Cllr. Jallah Barbu, Abraham Godsent Wheon, Dr. Edna Johnny, Jeremiah Sulunteh, Sam Siryon,  Rep. Marvin Cole and Dr. Jerry Brown.

Others are: Dr. Julius Sarwolo Nelson, Bishop Isaac Winker, LFA President Mustapha Raji, Defense Minister Daniel Ziankahn, Samora Wolokollie,  Rep. J. Fonatti Koffa, Rodney Sieh, Helen G. Simeon Taylor, Mouna Farhat, Varney Jarsey, Othello Garblah, Rep. Acarous Gray, Chief Zongbia of Nimba, Kadi Porte, and Montserrado County Sen. Saah H. Joseph.

Meanwhile, the inclusion of Womenvoices Publisher’s name on the list isn’t strange, considering her experience with the Unity Party’s regime. Accordingly, it gives her a vivid picture of what to expect if the UP ascends to the presidency.

It can be referenced that In 2014, police questioned Women Voices Helen Nah Sammie on 30 August about a story in the previous day’s issue headlined “Police accused of Ebola money corruption: junior officers crying foul of unfair distribution of operation money.” Although no charge was brought against her, she was interrogated for several hours. The ability to do investigative reporting was considerably reduced for weeks.

As the Ebola virus spread in Liberia, the authorities reinforced their control over the national media, although the free flow of news and information was essential to controlling the public health crisis.

Unarguably, excluding those from the media, the different individuals listed above by the opposition Unity Party (UP) are people they literary don’t have a smooth relationship with, especially those from the ruling establishment.

In January of this year, Leymah Gbowee, a well respected Liberian woman who’s known for her candid political statements, called on former Vice President Joseph Boakai to retire from politics and focus more on his health and his grandchildren.

The 78-year-old has been ill for the past weeks and was admitted at the ELWA Hospital for a week. He was discharged on Sunday. While the nature of his illness remains unclear, sources say he suffered stroke.

However, that didn’t go well with supporters of the UP, as they unmercifully blasted at her for her view regarding the former vice president’s involvement in politics, amid his poor health condition.
